Somira is a 9-year-old Grade 4 student with exceptional talent and dedication. She stands out among her peers in the fourth grade for her academic achievements and determination. Somira currently resides in the world’s largest Rohingya refugee camp, located in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Her dream is to become a nurse and serve the women and girls in her Rohingya community.
This aspiration is especially meaningful because there are currently no nurses from her community, as the Myanmar government did not allow Rohingya people access to education or training in nursing or other healthcare professions. Despite these challenges, Somira is determined to break barriers and make a difference by contributing to the well-being of her people. Her story is a testament to resilience, hope, and the power of education in transforming lives.
