The Struggles of Rohingya Children in the World's Largest Refugee Camp: A Call for Support in Education
The Rohingya people, an ethnic Muslim minority group from Myanmar, have faced years of persecution and violence, leading to their displacement in large numbers. Today, over a million Rohingya refugees live in Bangladesh in the world’s largest refugee camps, in Cox’s Bazar. Amid this crisis, one of the most pressing issues faced by the Rohingya children is the lack of access to proper education, which is essential for their future.
In the cramped, overcrowded classrooms of the camp, children are determined to learn despite the challenges they face. The conditions in these makeshift classrooms are harsh and far from ideal. Many of these children do not have proper desks, textbook , Note books and chairs and school materials to carry on. Instead, they sit on the bare floor, often surrounded by distractions and a lack of basic resources. The absence of basic educational infrastructure—such adequate lighting—makes it difficult for children to focus and absorb the lessons being taught.
